Good morning year 4 and welcome back!
I really hope you have had a wonderful half term and are ready for some exciting online learning.
We have been so lucky with the beautiful weather and all my plants have been thriving because of it. There are now 3 ripe strawberries bursting with colour and my bean plants have nearly reached the top of the trellis. Just have a look at the pictures below to see the changes that have happened over the past week.
This will be our last week of learning in this format and from next week onwards you'll be able to access all work on google classrooms. You will be sent the all the information about this platform this week.
Also, in preparation for next week, I will be uploading daily, this means... Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. So keep you eyes on this site.

Good morning year 4!
I hope you have been able to catch a little bit of the sunshine and to let the warmth of the sun paint a smile on your face. It has been glorious outside and my sunflowers have been stretching up towards the sky. But it was my bean plant that won the race this week and grew the most. More pictures after the holidays.
This will be the last time that you are working form this platform because after half term we will start working on google classrooms. There'll be videos, quizzes and lots of other fun learning to be done. In the meantime, there is just one more bit of work before a relaxing holiday.

Happy birthday Tate! I hope you have a wonderful day.
It was really lovely to catch up with most of you on Wednesday and Thursday. I was so impressed with how well all of you are doing and how motivated you all are, trying to complete the set work. You are all such superstars and I am very proud of you!
I promised to post some more of my plant pictures, but that might have to wait until Monday, because I am now starting to repot all the little seedlings. I will do this over the weekend and once it is all done I'll be ready to show you. It's very exciting and I wonder if you'll be able to spot how much they have grown.

At this point in the book, things are getting a little sad and thoughtful. Unfortunately, after a wonderful and fulfilled life, dedicated to tending his garden and the people he loved best, Lucy's grandad dies.This is a beautifully written chapter and describes Lucy's sadness very well. We have decided however, as this is a sensitive subject, we won't be planning any activities around it because we are not in class to discuss any worries or answer any questions that you might have. I am more than happy to email you the chapter if your adult emails to ask for it.
Today's chapter looks at Lucy's thoughts about Lob, now that Grandpa has gone.

Good morning year 4!
I hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend and caught a little sun on your daily walks.Every morning I listen to the birds singing and it fills my heart with joy. Although I miss all of your lovely smiling faces and those of my friends, this is one of the things that I am quite enjoying about lockdown.
At the weekend I tried some new and exciting recipes and some of them turned out really well. (Others didn't, but I'll try again!) Also, later on this week I will hopefully speak to you all on the phone. I am really looking forward to this.

Over the weekend I made a little book with marbled paper, have a look at the picture. I also practised a new song on the ukulele and read a few more pages of my book.

It's Friday and we have made it through to another week. Just a little bit more learning before you can have a well-deserved, restful weekend.
The plants in my garden have been growing with the wet weather and just look how many more have popped out of the soil now.
This weekend I am planning to do some marbling and then hopefully make my own little notebook. I'll let you know how it went on Monday.

Good morning year 4 and happy Wednesday!
I hope you have had a good beginning of the week. My plants are very happy because of all the nourishing rain and many more of my seeds have germinated. All the snails have also noticed however and they are eagerly trying to demolish my tiny seedlings. If you have any ideas of how to protect them from the hungry garden pests, then let me know. I'd love to hear your ideas.

Good morning year 4 and happy Wednesday!
Thank you to all of you who sent me such fantastic work. It was great to see how much effort you put into your learning, so keep it up.
I am also really looking forward to speaking to you and your parents on the phone tomorrow.
Here are your tasks for today.
English
There are a few parts to this lesson today.
You will need colours today as you will be drawing. Here we go.
1. Have a listen to the poem Ms Richardson is reading in the 'Poem' link below. It is on the first page of our story, just before chapter 1 and gives a good clue as to the setting of our story.
2. Have a listen to the poem again, but this time listen very carefully to all of the parts as you will now need to draw what you can hear. You can listen to it as many times as you need.
3. Once you have finished your drawing, take a piece of paper to one of the windows in your house and open up the window (you will need to get an adult to help you). You need to make a list of all the things you can hear when you close your eyes.
4. Have a look at 'Part 4 - Picture'. Can you use the poem and the list of things you just heard out of the window to label your drawing? Add as much description as you can. You may copy words from the poem and use them to label too.

I hope you have had a restful fun-filled Easter holiday and found lots of things to do to fill your time with.
In my holidays, I baked some bread and cakes, I practised mindfulness and yoga, did lots of writing in my journal and planted some seeds in my tiny garden.If you would like to let me know what you've been up to, please send me some pictures or a short letter on:

Now, let's get ready to tackle some exciting work. From this week onwards I'd like you to be really organised and make yourself a timetable and try to stick to it.
Let's see how successful you will be with this. Also I'd like you to send me your work much more regularly, so I can see how you are getting on with the tasks I am setting you. Remember to always try your best and I will be checking in with your parents on Thursday morning.

As we approach Easter, we have put together 3 English lessons that will explore the Easter story. Today, have a look at the missing words text and see if you can fill them in. Then, use the text to answer the Guided Reading questions at the bottom of the document, in your books. On Friday you will be asked a 'big write' question which you must answer with all the evidence you have and your opinions, so please pay close attention to each lesson. Check back on Wednesday for the next lesson.

Every class takes part in three brain breaks throughout the school day. Brain breaks are under five minutes each and give children calm time to focus their minds on one thought at a time.
